Rant/Soapbox:  Pick up after yourself, pack out what you pack in, tread lightly, pick up after your pets.  We pick up trash when we take walks around campgrounds.   Don’t leave a trace you were there.  We used to camp at very primitive campgrounds, and we didn’t just leave it the way we found it, we left it as if we were never there.

Campground review: Carter Lake.  2nd largest lake in Colorado, 12mi of shoreline.  96 sites, 13mi west of I25 (west of Berthoud and Loveland).  5 campgrounds (Eagle, South Shore, North Pines, Big Thompson, and Carter Knolls).  No dump at campgrounds, but just east of Carter Lake.  $7 fee to Larimer County Parks + nightly camping fee.  Fishing, swimming, boating.  Very popular, crowded on weekends.
